I've been working on UriTrack https://uritrack.com/— a smart urinal system that turns everyday restroom visits into instant health checkups. You walk up, do what you naturally do, and the system analyzes key urinary biomarkers (protein, ketones, hydration, infection markers) in real time, then sends results straight to your phone.

Why I'm working on this

Early detection through biomarker tracking is almost always reactive. People wait until something feels wrong, then book a lab appointment, collect a sample manually, and wait for results. It's inconvenient, messy, and time-consuming — so millions simply skip or delay routine urine tests. The consequences: delayed diagnoses, missed early warning signs, and preventable complications.
I saw this firsthand — elderly family members with chronic kidney disease who find biweekly lab visits exhausting, busy professionals who postpone checkups, and recurrent UTI patients who wait until symptoms become severe. The gap between "should test regularly" and "actually tests regularly" is enormous.
The research backs this up: 72% of respondents expressed high interest in passive, automated testing, 65% were willing to pay more for a contactless system, and 58% wanted results shared directly with their doctors.

How it might be useful

UriTrack makes testing happen passively during your daily routine — no scheduling, no manual collection, no disposable strips, no lab visits.
For patients: Continuous biomarker tracking with trend dashboards, early alerts for kidney strain or infection risk, and automatic sharing with their doctor. Especially impactful for CKD patients, diabetics, and older adults.
For clinicians: Real-time data between visits, automated alerts when biomarkers cross thresholds, and EHR integration.
For institutions: Deployable in offices, hospitals, airports, and campuses as shared-access health infrastructure.

The system is FHIR R4 compliant, HIPAA Safe Harbor aligned, and stores no PII. We're also building a companion app that analyzes clinical lab reports — upload a PDF and get a clinical breakdown, symptom triage, and a personalized exercise plan.

I've completed market research, user interviews, and the MRD/PRD. Now moving toward prototype testing and pilot partnerships.

    You have evidence of interest across patients, clinicians, and institutions, but those are very different buying motions. Which segment has shown the strongest concrete willingness to participate in a pilot or actually pay for UriTrack?

      Diabetic patients are more prone to testing their overall health and urine is one of them. With growing population of diabetic patients I feel that it helps them detect alarming parameters even before they visit the doctor or lab
