Stride Coach

Personalized running plans, no account required

September 4, 2026 Built Stride Coach because every running plan tool wanted an account, an ad view, or gave me a generic template

It’s a running coaching platform: personalized training plans from 5K to marathon distance, race guides for 100+ US marathons, Boston Marathon qualifier tracking, and pace/performance calculators. No account, no ads. You get a plan tailored to your actual fitness level and goal, as a shareable link or PDF export.

It’s also been a testbed for how far AI-assisted development can go on a real product — built with Claude as the primary dev accelerator, on FastAPI, React/TypeScript, and Vercel. I stripped out account and mileage-tracking features early on because they weren’t adding value for what people actually wanted, which was just a plan they could open and follow.

It’s live and free to use right now. Building in public on Threads as I go.

Removing features based on what people actually wanted is a useful signal. Have you seen whether runners come back because the plan itself keeps being useful, or whether most of the value is captured in generating that first plan?

Built because most running plan tools force an account, bury you in ads, or give generic templates with no real variation for your fitness level or goal.
