I built StatePilot after seeing how fragmented IRS and state notice work can become for accounting and tax teams.

Understanding the notice is often only the first step. Then there are deadlines, required actions, documents, follow-ups, and case history — often spread across inboxes, spreadsheets, and different tools.

StatePilot brings that process into one structured workflow: upload a notice, review key details with AI assistance, track deadlines and actions, manage follow-ups, and keep a clear history until resolution.

It’s still early, and I’m currently looking for feedback from accountants, tax professionals, and small firm owners.

If you deal with IRS or state notices regularly, I’d especially like to know: what part of the process wastes the most time for you?

The interesting part is where the real bottleneck sits. Is the biggest time sink understanding the notice, tracking deadlines, or managing follow-ups?

Great question. From what I’ve seen, the pain usually isn’t just one step — it’s the handoff between them. Understanding the notice takes time, but the bigger risk comes afterward: deadlines, required actions, documents, and follow-ups can easily get scattered across email and spreadsheets. That’s the part I’m trying to make more structured with StatePilot. I’d be curious which of those tends to be the biggest bottleneck in your experience.

That makes sense. The handoff between interpretation and execution sounds like the real risk point — especially when a missed follow-up can matter more than the initial notice itself.
