SouqFriday
AI-Driven Classifieds Platform for the MENA Region
Today, I'm officially bringing SouqFriday to the Indie Hackers community. Over the past 6 years, I’ve built this AI-driven classifieds platform as a solo developer, focusing entirely on product-market fit and organic growth across the GCC and broader MENA region.
6 Years Bootstrapping a MENA Classifieds App as a Solo Dev: 100K+ Installs, 54K+ Users, $0 CAC. Seeking Acquisition.
The Background For the past six years, I’ve been building SouqFriday from the ground up as a solo founder and full-stack developer. My vision was to unify the fragmented classifieds and recruitment markets across Arabic-speaking countries. Today, the platform operates on a completely custom architecture, growing entirely organically without a single dollar spent on paid marketing.
The Product & Features SouqFriday is an AI-driven digital marketplace handling real estate, vehicles, goods, and jobs. To eliminate cross-border friction, I engineered several proprietary features:
Smart auto-detection for instant user location and local currency recognition.
AI-powered ad copywriting engines that help users generate optimized listings instantly.
A real-time multimedia chat system supporting voice notes and file attachments.
Dedicated B2B tools, including verified corporate badges and an integrated recruitment portal.
The Tech Stack
The infrastructure is built for infinite scalability across regional markets:
Custom PHP backend leveraging PSR-4 autoloading, Symfony Components, and Vite.
Native Android components built with Java/Kotlin, live on Google Play and Huawei AppGallery.
High-performance MySQL database structured for rapid multi-country queries.
Traction & Business Model
100,000+ organic app installs and 54,000+ active users.
Customer Acquisition Cost (CAC) of exactly $0, driven by built-in network effects and social media reach.
Monetized via a high-margin freemium model: individual users are free, while commercial merchants (B2B) pay for tiered subscriptions and digital wallet credit packages to promote listings.
The Ask: Why I'm Exiting I have successfully achieved product-market fit and built a highly defensible technical asset. However, scaling to dominate the entire MENA region now requires a dedicated marketing team and operational capital. I am seeking a strategic acquisition to pass the platform to an entity equipped to activate its full monetization potential.
I’d love to connect with potential buyers, investors, or fellow founders who have navigated exits for bootstrapped platforms.
