Social Cue
Find the conversations worth engaging.
"Your assets are unusually strong on craft and unusually weak on distribution signals." — Claude
99% of the time Claude is a hype bot, so if Claude calls you "weak" you know something is wrong.
My distribution sucks, so now I'm trying to fix it.
The plan
I'm a software developer, I was never big on sharing on social media or networking. I care about shipping.
So I am still going to ship: but it's going to be marketing tools that I dogfood myself.
Each of my four plugins solves a problem I have: github.com/mrieck/claude-plugins.
Here's what I have so far, let me know if you think these will help my problems with marketing, or if there are better ways.
1. DemoDay
A Claude plugin that turns a codebase into a narrated demo video. Claude reads the repo, drives the app on screen, records it, adds a voiceover, renders the MP4.
Nobody clicks a launch with no video. Now every launch I can make multiple videos.
First thing I made with it: a DemoDay video about DemoDay. The tool demoing itself.
2. SEOblog
A Claude plugin that writes content for web, by being my SEO bot. Live SERP research, competitor analysis, generated images via Fal.ai, and it automatically pushes drafts to my website blogs.
This is more a long-term strategy but consistently hitting keywords in my niche should compound over time.
3. Social Cue
A Claude plugin to find Reddit, HN, X and other social threads worth joining for your brand. Claude drives your own logged-in browser, scores the threads, drafts replies in your voice. Everything lands in a queue for your review.
Once again since it's a plugin, it just runs on my existing Anthropic Max sub. Run it off-hours, or when I'm at my dayjob, and it can find relevant conversations any hour of the day.
4. Overboard
I have Claude plugins that create content, demonstrate my product with demos, and find places to post - I need a scheduler to manage them. Overboard is an agent scheduler and dashboard for anyone with a lot of Claude Code sessions. Most products want to put your agents in the cloud, but my agent orchestrator is built for my Mac, it has the context of every single product I'm working on.
Other than a scheduler, it also has "needs your review" flags to surface things I might be missing from recent conversations with coding agents.
It's not marketing exactly, but it's the way I manage all my agents that are my content marketing toolset. My goal is to improve SocialCue to include monitoring/posting to more platforms and find channels that work - IndieHackers posts like this included.
Does it work?
I don't know - and that's a problem. Today I'm adding analytics because I need to track what channels work. Most of my comment replies with SocialCue have gone unnoticed but it's important not to just publish my own content into the void, and build karma on reddit and followers on X/Threads. I'll have to keep monitoring and see what channel/content works best.
Update at End of September
I'll write a post-mortem of how my marketing efforts landed with specifics on posts/content that caught on. I am literally starting from 0, no followers or reach, new handle on every platform, if these tools don't work it will be obvious.
In the meantime if you want to try out any of these free Claude plugins yourself, they're on my github: github.com/mrieck/claude-plugins
About
