Daily mental training for iPhone, no streaks, no backend

September 3, 2026 Shipped v1.0: one sitting a day, and no backend at all

Mantiq went live on the App Store on 25 August. iPhone only, one-time $4.99, no subscription and no ads.

The constraint I set myself was that it has to work against its own engagement metrics. One sitting a day, and when it is done there is no way to do another one. No streak that nags you, no confetti, one optional reminder that is off by default. There is no backend either - no accounts, no analytics, and the question banks and your progress stay on the phone.

Nine days of a cold listing with no posts and no reviews gave me 27 impressions, 10 product page views and 2 downloads. That is what the App Store gives you for nothing, and it is worth knowing before you count on it.

Next: the first posts are going out this week, and I want to write up why I published the whole price ladder up front - $4.99 for the first 100 buyers, then $9.99, $14.99, $19.99 - instead of running a launch discount.

About

I built it for myself. My memory and mental arithmetic got worse while I leaned on AI every day at work, and I wanted to train them back without a game attached: one sitting a day, no streaks, no backend, no analytics.
