September 15, 2026 Shipped a free invoice generator with no backend, so nothing you type leaves your browser

I kept running into the same problem with free invoice tools. Either you need an account, there’s a watermark, or you’re sending client and payment details to a server just to generate a PDF. That always felt unnecessary to me.

So I built the version I wanted.

Invoicing Studio has no backend. It’s a static site and everything happens in your browser. Nothing you type gets uploaded anywhere. You can open the network tab and verify it yourself.

It does invoices, estimates, quotes, receipts, credit notes and proforma, works across 50+ countries and currencies, and supports Indian GST (CGST/SGST/IGST) with a scan-to-pay UPI QR code.

Free, no sign-up, no catch.

It’s live at invoicingstudio.com.

I’m still figuring out distribution, so I’d genuinely love to hear how other builders here would approach getting something like this in front of the right people. And if you try it, tell me what’s missing or annoying.

Do invoices stay in my browser or do you store them on server?
Can I add different VAT rates on two lines in same invoice?
Do you have per-client defaults so I skip retyping address?

      Per-line VAT is live now.

      Good questions, thanks!

      1. Everything stays in your browser. Nothing you enter gets sent to a server.
      2. Different rates per line work for Indian GST, but VAT is one rate for the whole invoice right now. Good catch though. The underlying setup is already there, so I should be able to add per-line VAT this week. I’ll reply here when it’s live.
      3. Yep. Save a client once, then pick them in the Bill To field and their details fill in automatically.

Really appreciate the specific questions, this is useful feedback.

About

Sending an invoice shouldn't require an account or uploading your data to some company's server. So this runs entirely in your browser: nothing is uploaded, nothing leaves your device, and it's free.
