Deformity
Free forms in seconds
I received a cash offer of $35k to sell Deformity. While tempting, I ultimately chose to grow it more before selling.
It took some time and was gradual, but Deformity was able to reach 1,000 users. These users came mostly organically.

Deformity was lucky enough to be featured again in Ben's Bites newsletter. BBs was the true launch because Product Hunt doesn't seem all that worthwhile these days. The Ben's Bites feature drove a similar amount of traffic as the first time.
It immediately brought in the first couple handfuls of users. The product was quite raw, so there was a lot of iteration in terms of pushing out small updates and fixes.

Used a competitor's product to collect early signups for Deformity. Many mistook the competitor's product for Deformity's product, which was funny.
Had a successful launch after being featured in Ben's Bites newsletter which drove nearly 1k visitors to the site.
During the signup flow, I asked if they would like to be an initial design partner (for 50% off regular prices) to give feedback while the product was being built.
One hiccup in the process was the link to signup was invalid for many hours after going live in the newsletter, so Deformity likely lost out on many signups.

Nothing says living your best life like snagging a fresh domain name. It’s like buying a little piece of the internet and saying, ‘Yeah, this is mine now.’
The name Deformity is core to the product. It's about shaking up the form industry, and giving the world something unique.
