September 8, 2026 I built a developer dating + project‑based connection app because devs are lonely in a way nobody talks about

I’ve been coding out of libraries, cafés, parking lots, and anywhere with Wi‑Fi for years. And the more devs I meet, the more I realize we’re all doing the same thing — building alone, drifting between public spaces, and not really connecting with anyone.

Developers don’t meet in bars or clubs. We meet through ideas, code, and projects.

So I built CRUD8 — a place where devs can meet through what they create. Dating, gaming dev, project collabs, or just talking shop. No bios. No swipes. Just builds.

I’m launching it publicly and would love feedback from the IH community. If you’ve ever felt that “dev isolation” or tried to meet other builders, this is for you.

    The original price-estimator wedge is clearer than the current feature set. Are customers actually buying Operator to increase booked jobs, or are the CRM/forecasting features becoming the main reason they stay?

    Quick update — the post above is the soft version of CRUD8. Here’s the real one. CRUD8 isn’t a “dev loneliness” app. It’s a neon combat‑dating OS where developers interact by firing drones, rockets, grenades, boosts, and hotfixes at each other instead of swiping. It behaves like an operating system, not a dating app — complete with consumables, tiers, themes, and chaotic mechanics that make it feel more like a game than a social platform. I built this solo, bouncing between libraries, cafés, and parking lots in Oceanside/Carlsbad.
