Warning: This is probably one of the most frivolous post ever. But here goes
I recently posted this on IH to say how my tweet did well. And I got some replies like "great thread", "congrats", and similar messages
I truly truly appreciate people taking their time and saying these nice words. It felt good to be "endorsed" by fellow IHers.
However, here is my dilemma: Should I thank them all?
As I said, I really want to. But I feel this will generate an empty, zero-value notification. I imagine the person picking up the phone expecting a 'new sale' notification. Or being frustrated with the constant interruptions. At best, I will get a ... "meh". At worst, I have irritated someone.
Worse, maybe the fear of a frivolous notification actually stops someone from commenting! Maybe I lost a few "good stuff" messages just because they did not want me to see my non-reply reply notification!
So here goes. A poll
I wish one of your voting options was "hell no."
Maybe if there's a question after the "great stuff " message.
A question has to be answered. No doubt about that.
I don't expect it, but it's nice, sometimes.
You could give the comments an upvote as a way to say thank you, they won't know it is you, but it gives them profile points. 🤷🏽♀️
I thought so too. But doesn't that move the comment up?
Yes, that too.
