Two weeks in on Pastable (desktop app to save and reuse UI components across Figma and Webflow). Here is where things stand.
Numbers:
Three things I learned:
Rewriting the hero from feature-first to pain-first made an immediate difference. Old: "save and reuse your components." New: "stop rebuilding the same nav bar." Same product, different world. I should have done it day one.
The clipboard format gap is bigger than I expected. Figma uses a custom binary format. Webflow uses a totally different encoding. The actual product is the bridge between them — that is the hard part, and also the part that is hardest to explain on a landing page.
A 13-year Webflow veteran is testing the alpha right now. If the value prop does not land for him, I need to rethink it. His feedback matters more than any metric I have this week.
The question I am stuck on:
Should I make Webflow-to-Webflow perfect first (simpler, lower risk, easier to demo) — or lead with the Figma-to-Webflow cross-tool angle as the differentiator from day one?
The cross-tool angle is what makes this distinct. But it is also harder to deliver on and harder to prove. What would you do?
