UX Reviews!

Hello!

I'm a UX designer and quite new to Indie Hackers. If anyone wants a quick audit done for their landing page or their app, please leave a link in the comments. I can go through and call out areas of concern from a usability perspective, whether it's copy, interaction mechanisms, content strategy, visual design, etc.

Would love to help out where I can.

    What a nice offer!

I do not have a website to review, but I am very curious how a professional UI/UX audit is done. Is there a protocol to follow? When you find a problem with the UI, do you have some sort of guideline/specification which you can point out is violated? Does such an audit also include potential fixes already?

At the surface level, it would be using the website/app to identify points of friction and confusion. Maybe it's a missing piece of content that could make the rest of the landing page make sense. Maybe it's a specific mechanism in the interface that isn't working as well as it should.

There are tools like Baymard and checklist.design that I/you could refer to for UX best practices in interfaces and reference companies that are following those "rules".

When a pain point is found, it would be a matter of defining why it's not working and iterating on what else could accomplish the same task more optimally.
