A useful lesson from our Spanish home-services marketplace: price ranges are often symptoms of scope ambiguity, not market noise. Bituminous membrane installation can be quoted at €15–25/m² on a prepared base, around €40/m² when the old layer must be removed, and up to €90/m² when the substrate needs conditioning. A Madrid sample has a €39/m² median, but that number is meaningless without the underlying scenario.
The practical product insight is simple: ask one structured question before matching or comparing providers — “Does this price assume anything must be removed first?” It separates material-only numbers from installed work and exposes omitted preparation, overlaps, edges, and waste. Better intake data makes quotes easier to compare and reduces avoidable back-and-forth for both homeowners and professionals.
