I made a little niche programming site about learning a programming language from examples of another.
I wanted to make a resource that wasn't aimed at complete newcomers to development, and instead focus on helping more experienced programmers learn another language quickly with rhyming examples.
I'm starting to get requests for backlinks to other programming resources for companies that seek to hire developers - what are some strategies for monetizing your backlinks?
Affiliate programs or ad space? Pros/Cons?
I'm not sure how many readers your site has, but the fact that companies reach out to you is a pretty good indicator that you've done something right there.
If you got the chance to sell ad space individually you can go for rather high prices per ad (like a few hundred dollars a month).
With affiliate programs you would bear the risk of people not signing up on their site, which I would rather not prefer.
