Promoting lifetime deal without deal platform

What are some of the ways people here have promoted a SaaS lifetime deal without collaborating with deal platforms?

While most of the posts I have read on web have stated they published their SaaS lifetime deals on any of the platforms(like Appsumo, Pitchground or similar), I am curious if someone has any success doing an SaaS LTD without it.

Hexometer have developed multiple different product (hexowatch and others that I don't remember right now), and they have promoted all of them as LTDs to their own user base. Possibly through other channels, I'm not sure.

adilo have also just had an LTD published to their own users, probably hoping to convert free users to ltd. The cost was $500 which is a lot more than the common ltd price.

In both cases they have just sent emails to their own users, not through any of the ltd platforms. I guess if you already have a large user-base, you can pull this trick.

Hey! Thanks for suggesting that. Already planned a good email drip for existing customers and I am sure that will help. Not having a larger base but I think this will definitely push some of them to buy :)

You can promote it on Facebook groups, producthunt,on social media in general and finally here on Indie Hackers.

    For Facebook groups:

    1. https://www.facebook.com/groups/martechwise
    2. https://www.facebook.com/groups/softwarelifetimedealsappsumosaasltdkenmoo/

Remember to ask permission from admins of respective Facebook groups before posting your offer.

    My personal opinion:
    a) Keep the offer tied to a particular plan (an open-ended offer doesn't do much good)
    b) Be Honest (you need not agree with everything community users say but at the same time try to see their point of view. Maybe there can be common bridge)
    c) Split payment works wonderfully.

    All the best.

Thanks man! I kept just a single plan. I did not understand the split payment part.

Also, I think group admins will ask for commissions which I am okay with if it's not as big as deal platforms.

Split payments are helpful when total amount is high.. Say if there is any LTD plan with $499 then split payments are helpful for customers and thereby u get more users.

Not sure how much is the commission,it will be nominal if they do..
Sometimes they don't charge at all.
