Just a quick "complaining" update...
I've been incredibly frustrated over the past several years with LMS platforms/services, as well as membership site software (and I've tried them ALL--I'm currently on Thinkific's highest plan).
Problem I think need's solving in this space:
I think more providers (Teachable, Thinkific, LifterLMS, Learndash, etc) need to put a higher priority on the user dashboard.
It seems few of these companies actually think through the UX for the end user--as they're mainly focused on selling to the creators. I can't blame them, but I'd love to see one of these companies come out with an enhanced, minimal, underwhelming dashboard for online courses.
I might have one developed for my own project. :)
Hey Pete I'd love to chat more about this. I've always been fascinated by the LMS scenes and tinkered with a few ideas, but never seriously attempted to build one.
I'm around the ATL area if you wanna chat over a cup of coffee.
Dude always. Maybe email me at pete@doyouevenblog.com and I'll shoot my number for safekeeping?
Sent you an email!
Totally agreed. All of the dashboards for these tools are terrible, both for users AND admins.
Right? Let's get on it. ✊
