One thing I keep noticing in B2B sales workflows: visibility disappears after the proposal stage

Lately I’ve been spending a lot of time talking with RevOps people, outbound operators, and founders around GTM workflows.

One pattern keeps showing up repeatedly:

Teams are getting very good at collecting signals before outreach:

intent data
enrichment
scoring
engagement tracking
outbound automation

But once a proposal is actually sent and starts moving internally across the buyer organization, visibility suddenly becomes much weaker.

At that point:

CRM stages become stale
engagement signals become fragmented
sales activity depends heavily on manual follow-up
and different systems often tell completely different stories about account health

The weird part is:
most companies technically already have the data.

The problem seems to be understanding real momentum once deals enter multi-stakeholder workflows.

Curious whether others here have seen similar “visibility gaps” inside their own sales or post-sales processes.

For me, the biggest thing that gets lost after a client call is the reason behind the next step.

It’s easy to write “send offer” or “follow up next week,” but harder to preserve why: budget concern, missing decision maker, technical question, timing issue, etc.

That context matters a lot when the conversation continues later.

I really like this point. The “why” behind the next step can be more valuable than the action itself.

A follow-up reminder tells you what to do, but the context tells you how to approach it.

That's something I'm thinking about with DocMetrics as well not just showing engagement, but helping connect the signal to the reason for the next sales action.
