I just did a major redesign on my tech newsletter site. Let me know what you think. https://quickbyte.tech
It doesn't say what it is or why I should sign up for it
That's a valid point. I'll see if I can add an extra line of copy on the homepage that explains it a little more.
Hey @breezy,
Here are some thoughts. I'm going to be direct but I'm not intending to be insulting:
Design:
The blur design element feels too random. It doesn't correlate to tech, newsletter, quick or byte in any way. I'd remove it.
The most important thing on your page is the name "Quickbyte". I'm sure you're looking to increase brand awareness but that doesn't speak to the value of your newsletter.
There is no contrast to your call to action. The email field is barely visible. The "subscribe" button simply looks like text. Not only does this not make anything stand out, it also presents accessibility issues.
I would add an outline to the email field (or make it have a white background). I'd give the Subscribe button a background color that has high contrast with the black background.
Copy:
There is no headline suggesting a benefit to signing up to yet another newsletter.
Your subhead of "Your daily tech newsletter" doesn't excite. Why do people need or want another daily tech newsletter? Why is yours worthwhile? Is it because you distill tech industry info down to a quick summary? (Assuming based on the name Quickbyte).
You need to let people know why they want/need this newsletter.
The "see all" in the bottom corner is random. See all of what? It might seem safe to assume that people simply know that means archives, but you can't assume anything. You need to be clear.
Also, seeing all archives isn't that great of a selling point.
Giving people a preview of how good the content is before signing up is a good selling point.
Think along the lines of "preview some of Quickbyte's most popular editions". Throwing Quickbyte in there helps with the brand awareness.
Good luck!
The white background makes readability hard on smaller screens.
