Launched LiveChime for easy SMS/message lists

Hey everyone! Long time IndieHacker member here. I've built a few things over the years, this time I am excited to present LiveChime.

Our goal is to make a very simple direct messaging and SMS platform for businesses and creators that respects the end user's privacy and doesn't require them to download any new apps.

Originally, I was inspired by watching a live streamer who regularly asks his followers to join his discord as he felt the youtube notifications were not very good. I thought that a lot of people probably have this issue and do not want to go through the hassle of hosting a discord server nor do their users want to join a discord server just to receive notifications. SMS and message list products aren't targeted at this type of use case and require a good bit of configuration to setup and use.

After some more thought, I focused on what I surmise to be the heart of the problem. Many creators and businesses haven't even tried to start building and using a message list. Because the barrier to entry to use these channels is relatively high (compared to email) and represent a somewhat new strategy for many folks, I wanted to create something very easy to implement and use. By lowering the barrier to entry, it raises the number of potential use cases and users.

• LiveChime offers a simple sign up process which allows you to create a profile that contains all the social and web links you want to share (a "link-in-profile" product if you will).

• What makes your LiveChime profile special is that it prominently features a subscription form which allows your subscribers to choose between Telegram and SMS to receive your notifications. You do not have to configure anything. It is all there out-of-the-box and sending a notification to all of your followers is as easy as sending a text.

• We are also about to release an embeddable subscription form so you can include it in your website.

There have been some difficulties at the start, mainly in sales and explaining the product. It seemed very simple to me but I've found I've really had to work on explaining the product in a clear way. I am not experienced with sales but I am taking it seriously that the founders should be the first salespeople.
