I've now pitched 400 agencies globally. here's the pricing breakdown that actually makes them reply.

when i started cold emailing agencies, i had no idea what to charge. so i tested everything.

first attempt: free trial. "let us run a 5-prospect demo for free." response rate: basically zero. turns out "free" signals "not worth my time" to agency owners who already get 50 cold emails a day.

second attempt: $997/mo. positioned as a premium service. also zero replies. agencies that size have in-house teams or existing vendors. a cold email from an unknown isn't breaking through at that price point.

third attempt: $297/mo. that's where things shifted. here's why:

$297/mo is below the threshold where most agency owners need to consult a partner or get approval. it's a "just try it" price. and for an agency charging clients $2,500-10,000/mo for marketing services, $297 for automated outreach is a rounding error.

what the $297 includes:
500 personalized cold emails per month to their clients' prospects
each email references a real finding from the prospect's website (not templates — actual scan data)
fully automated — they don't touch anything after setup
we handle sending, tracking, and reporting

what agencies actually care about (learned from 400 pitches):
"will this get my clients more leads?" — the only question that matters
they don't care about the tech stack, the AI, or the automation
they don't care about features or dashboards
they care about: does it work, how fast can i see results, what's the minimum commitment

the pitch that gets replies:
subject line: "{their domain} — quick question about your client outreach"
first line: reference a real SEO finding from their site
second line: one sentence about the service
third line: the price and what's included
fourth line: offer to run a free demo for one client

that's it. no storytelling. no "we're revolutionizing." just: here's what i found on your site, here's what i do, here's what it costs.

regional pricing observations:
southeast asian agencies respond well to $297 — it's competitive there
uk agencies want to see case studies before discussing price
australian agencies are the most direct — they either want it or they don't, minimal back and forth
us agencies rarely reply to cold email at all — contact forms work better

what pricing strategies have worked for your B2B cold outreach? curious if anyone's found a sweet spot different from mine.

That part where your first offers got zero replies is interesting.

Usually when that happens, it’s not just pricing, it’s how the value is being perceived instantly.

What did your original email positioning look like?
