Hey Raheel, I'm a designer also in SF working on a side project for a more efficient and organized way to do voice interviews for user research, journalists, students, etc.
This project grew out of trying to force spreadsheets and eventually Airtable into a user quote database. I realized that to make it truly efficient the product has to be doing the recording during an interview so you can bookmark interesting moments in real time and then review immediately after.
I have a designed prototype for both with and without transcription (a few other challenges come up with transcription that I don't think are necessary for a true MVP, but quickly I think you'd want to add transcription).
Let me know if you'd be interested in getting together! I'm currently looking for a dev partner with UI abilities and an eye towards what it would take to set this up for teamwork/collaboration flows for teams of researchers and journalists. I have a few friends in each industry who are pretty excited about the prototypes I've shown the so far and are ready to use this once we have an MVP.
