How do you handle rejection?

Hey Makers/ Founders,

firstly, I hope all of you guys take care of your health and be careful within the Covid time.

I was listening to jay-z's music randomly on the casual weekend then an idea came to my mind, next I open google, search things like "how jay-z get started" then it leads to a post on lifehacker.

I noticed that jay-z was rejected by some record label, I'm not sure if it's true or not, but why I'm doing this is because I'm reached out to some startup founders and doing some interview recently, I want to know how they think and approach problems. I found some interesting patterns and the part of how to handle rejection intrigue me a lot!

I wanna learn from you too! have you ever been rejected and felt so painful?
then what did you do after being rejected?

    Hello another Simon,

Not well, that's how I handle rejections and even just push-back. Unfortunately, after a brain injury, anything negative takes a huge toll on me that I've started calling an "emotional hangover". It often destroys any productivity for a day or more.

What I'm learning through this process is that it's OK to feel like crap. If feeling like crap is the new normal then just accept it, beating myself up over it is what makes it worse or prolongs it. Then, when I'm not feeling so crappy I think through the rejection or feedback logically and there's generally some good advice there. I also save all the positive feedback I've gotten and I also keep "motivational quotes", like the quotes that show while IH is loading, and I regularly scroll through all of those to be reminded of all the good that outweights this one bad.

    Hope that helps,
