My spaced-repetition flashcard product (https://www.itsinks.in) started as an attempt to solve my own problem:
I'm getting to the point where I need to polish up the features I have and try to launch. (Probably I should have done this earlier, but that mistake is in the past.)
It seems prudent to find a niche to target first, and there are many possibilities:
Yes, it's better to know this before you build the thing, but I really needed this to exist just for myself!
In a situation like this, how would you recommend going about finding a niche to target at launch? Or should I launch this (or some near-future version of it) as is and wait to decide until I see how it's used?
You will make it a lot easier for yourself to focus on one niche. That being said, your product can still be for multiple niches, but launching a product for multiple niches requires a lot of work.
Therefore niche down, and focus on one niche in your wording, targeting and marketing. It will make it a lot easier for you.
Then, later on, pick up a second niche, nail that, and then do it over and over again until you feel you cover all niches your product target. At this point, you will also have a manual book on launching a new niche, though there are still differences, I'm aware.
That's my 5 cents on it. 🙏
Thanks so much!
