Hey,
I recently built Jott, a note-taking system with linked notes, save & sync, shareable note title suggestions, etc. and I am running a closed beta to get some user feedback.
This is the first time I am running a closed beta (or any beta at all 😅) - do you have any advice/experiences you would like to share that might help me out?
Make sure to talk about what's happening in the close beta to build hype. Even if it's just a blog post on "here's what changed today" to get/keep people interested.
In respect to the actual testers, communicate. Try to schedule a call with each tester that you get (or at least start an email thread) to better understand who is attracted to the product.
What are your long-term goals for Jott? Is it going to be a for-sale product/service/OSS?
Thanks for the actionable advice - scheduling calls is a great idea.
And as for the long term plans, I am not sure yet - this is kind of a weekend project that got away from me. But I think this could turn into something I could charge a subscription fee for - or maybe just a once of purchase to keep things simple in the beginning.
