Hey Indie Hackers,
Like many solo makers, Bogdan (founder of ThumbRank) built a solid product, but one week before his Product Hunt launch, his positioning had several blind spots that could have killed conversion.
He ran his landing page through our launch audit tool, zarek.tech, and we flagged 8 critical positioning issues:
Unverified claims: He had a headline promising "+23% CTR lift." Without massive published datasets, technical audiences push back hard on specific percentage claims. We stripped it in favor of transparent scoring.
Jargon confusion: His primary metric was called "CTR Score", making people think it was an ad tool. Renaming it to "AI Thumbnail Score" clarified the value immediately.
Feature list vs. Visual proof: Instead of just listing features, we advised adding an interactive side-by-side comparison panel so visitors could instantly see why a thumbnail succeeded or failed.
Buried founder narrative: His initial copy focused on mechanics rather than his authentic story (3 years building tools, going 0→50K). We restructured his launch posts around that personal journey.
The result: He overhauled his site hero, refined his launch narrative, and rolled it out cleanly across Product Hunt and X today.
I built Zarek specifically to help solo builders audit their positioning and automate distribution preparation without sounding like generic marketing spam.
For those who have launched recently: What was the biggest positioning change you had to make between your first draft and launch day?
Happy to run a free positioning breakdown for anyone currently prepping a launch.
