Book editing?
Hey fellow writers :)
I am coming close to finishing my manuscript and beginning to think about book editing. So, the question comes up:
Should I hire a freelance editor or some agency? My book is about a special IT field, should I search for an editor with related experience?
Does anyone have any experience to share? And editors to recommend?
I think it definitely makes sense to hire someone to edit (or at least proofread) the book once.
In my experience during working on my book, the feedback my editor gave me was quite valuable. She spotted a few grammatical errors and helped improve the sentence structure, which I believe improved the book's overall readability.
I found her on Fiverr. I specifically looked for editors with some familiarity reading code or with software in general, so that's something I'd definitely recommend.
