I've been an IG addict most of my adult life (millennialism), and I deleted my Facebook last year. Twitter is the new frontier for me, both personally and professionally.
I love it's conversational quality, however, I'm at a loss understanding how to engage better.
I'm in charge of running socials for a new product I'm working on, a social goal tracker. Here's our Twitter account https://twitter.com/StrivelyHQ.
My GF loves Twitter, and I keep asking her if I'm doing it wrong. I know that posting content isn't enough, engagement matters. But, right now I am trying to at least have some tangible content such as:
Making threads related to aspects of goal setting i.e. importance of forming habits, setting deadlines, remaining accountable, etc.
Making thread summarizing Tedtalks related to goal setting and success, timestamps included.
Linking to helpful resources.
The content is meant to serve users I engage with on the platform, but I can't seem to find where my users hang out. I've made a couple lists, and I'm perusing hashtags. But, anything related to goal setting on Twitter seems so lukewarm. I can't find the right users to help, or the right influencers to follow. It just seems to be a desert.
It's easy enough on my personal Twitter. I keep up with fellow IH there, or other people I admire, and I get engagement because it feels more authentic. Neither account is growing, but it's easier to enjoy the platform on my personal acct.
Cracking the code for the brand is tough. I'm considering going to IG because I know it better and it seems to support browsing more than Twitter does. I don't want to touch FB, but it's always a possibility.
Am I missing something? Am I just not consistent enough? I appreciate the feedback.
Hi Samuel, I do have to say that I think you could improve your Twitter skills.
I saw the post last Friday and noticed you were not following many accounts maybe start by watching and learning.
Also, related you do not interact with a lot of accounts and only post content, maybe start by replying to other accounts and start building relationships :)
Hi @DirtyRonin
I feel the same that you with my not-personal account.
It is difficult to engage people on twitter.
We are building an app that has the objective of changing a bit the user experience consuming Twitter.
For example, it allows you to listen to tweets, see tweets in chronological orgder, download native images and videos and share them with FB/IG/whatsap/Telegram/e-mail/etc., translate tweets automatically to your native language (optional setting).
We are adding new features very month.
It would be great if you could take a look at the app, Twitter is a great social network I think you should give it a new try.
The app is called Tweetline Podcast and you can download it here:
