1 year of IH-ing. The most valuable lesson?

1 year ago, I resigned from a full-time remote job.
I've picked up a 20h per week consulting job to start IH-ing with the remaining 20h.

It has been a fantastic year. The list of things I've learned is very long. The most valuable lesson?

"At this stage, I am unable to learn from the mistakes of others."

I get slowly better at this, and I'm pretty sure this statement won't be true a few years from now.

For me (1 year of IH-ing perspective), to learn fast is to ignore most of the advice and take action. That means - experiencing the why behind the advice and getting burned many times - to internalize the basics.
