Matthias Bärtschi

Solo founder and developer based in Switzerland, building under the TightBlocks brand. I work mostly in Rust (Axum on the backend, Tauri on the desktop) with Next.js on the front. My focus is small, privacy-respecting tools that people actually own rather than rent — which is why my products lean toward one-time purchases and bring-your-own-key AI instead of subscriptions and cloud lock-in.
Currently shipping glyphmd, a native Markdown editor for Mac, Windows and Linux. Always happy to talk shop about Tauri, going solo, or the unglamorous parts of launching a paid desktop app.

glyphmd is a native Markdown editor for macOS, Windows and Linux, built with Rust and Tauri 2.It started from a frustration I never got over: editing Markdown was fine, but managing it was a mess. Notes, project docs and stray .md files scattered across a dozen folders, and every editor only ever showed me one folder at a time. glyphmd is built around fixing that — you pull files of different origins into named libraries and manage them together.A few deliberate choices:• One-time purchase, not a subscription. You buy it once and own that version. No monthly fees, no account needed just to
